Expedition Overview

We ripped through Turkey — coastlines, mountains, switchbacks, and a few “is this actually the road?” moments.

We came back dustier, bolder, and maybe slightly addicted to Turkish tea.

  • Olympo: Hike to ruins and the beach
  • Pamukkale: Karahayit, Pamukkale Natural Park, Hierapolis and Cleopatra Pools
  • Cappadocia: Riding through the fairy chimneys and riding in a hot air balloon!
  • Kapuzbaşı Selalesi Kayseri: Amazing waterfalls

The Ride

  • Terrain: Mountain passes, dirt roads, gravel roads, switchbacks and more switchbacks!
  • Weather: Blistering sun, a bit of rain

What Stood Out

  • Best Riding Moments: The color of the water there is something else! The views going in and out of where the waterfall was, spectacular!
  • Off-Bike Highlights: Hot Air Balloons! The sights of Gerome. The history of Pammukkale. We saw Hells Gate!
  • Critters Spotted: Camels, turtles, dogs, cats everywhere!

The Reality

What made it tough + how it was handled: Jamie smacking the road (rear tire slipped on oil in a switchback), breakdowns, stomach issues — we powered through and had an amazing adventure together
