Sri Lanka 2025
Level 1, March 2–14, 2025 lead by Jamie Jenks
Expedition Overview
In Sri Lanka, we chased incredible twisty roads through lush landscapes, spotted elephants in the wild, and embraced the unexpected. Between oil-hungry bikes and rainy final days that brought out the leeches, it was equal parts challenge and adventure.

The Ride
- Terrain: Paved, windy roads, mountain roads, gravel roads
- Weather: Hot/humid, rain
What Stood Out
- Best Riding Moments: Riding by a wild elephant sitting on the side of the road.
- Off-Bike Highlights: Battling monkeys! Watching a vibrant religious procession unfold—bursts of color, rhythmic music, and devotion everywhere—while one participant, suspended by chains from a towering boom, moved through the parade in a powerful display of faith and tradition.
- Critters Spotted: Dogs, monkeys, chickens, elephants, cats, leeches, spiders
The Reality
What made it tough + how it was handled: The bikes burned through oil like nothing you have ever seen before. Once the rain hit, we were dodging leeches like nobody’s business!
