Expedition Overview

Wild adventure. Peru had everything to it. City life to super super remote villages, incredible food and communities and with the big mountain changes, big weather changes.

We rode through remote villages, huddled in huts to wait out the rain drinking coffee with condensed milk, tried crazy foods and had BIG ride days.

Notable Stops

  • Machu Picchu: Hiking and taking in the views
  • Lake Humantay: Sleeping in domes at the edge of the lake

The Ride

  • Terrain: Tarmac, sand, gravel, snow!
  • Weather: Big elevation changes meant big weather changes. In one day we were riding alongside snow and by night, we were tanning in our bathing suits poolside. Peru was everything when it came to weather.

What Stood Out

  • Best Riding Moments: Switchbacks like you have never seen before and starting the ride in the snow and ending the day in a desert oasis, what a variety!
  • Off-Bike Highlights: Eating guinea pig….

The Reality

What made it tough + how it was handled: Cold mountain weather in dense fog.
